I'm fine with Carl coming after Kes, but the fact is that Carl screwed himself up with that early wreck. Kes didn't give Carl room, but he had no reason to expect it. Brad barely tapped him, Carl lost control and it was compounded by Edwards hitting Logano. Sometimes it happens.

Edwards wrecking Kes when and where he did was unacceptable. Wreck him early at Bristol or Martinsville when it's still a big cluster. Not when you're 30 laps down and Keslowski is gunning for a top 10. Plus, why on earth would you wreck him right by the grandstands? Do it on the backstretch where he won't hurt anyone.

I'll contribute to the list of trading block players...

RF Raymond Hofmann, plenty of pop and RBI potential, should be batted in the meat of the order against lefties.

LF Thomas Lippert, converted catcher has struck out just 13 times over last 939 at-bats, and he contends that at least 6 of them were bad calls.

P Jake McGray, after years of under-performing his salary, he's got the potential to be a bargain in relief or as a 5th starter.

3B Neil Lopez, havng a little bit of an off-year, but has been one of the better all around players in the Smooth Talkers last decade.

The return isn't too important...but I'm pretty set at 3B in the LM and SS at the MLB level, although anyone who I can move to 2B would be awesome.

PM me if you'd like to chat about players. [6136 total replies]

What it's going to come down to is this. We know who the 3,4,5 guys are gonna be. We also agree that Yadi doesn't belong at the top of the order. So that leaves Ras, Freese and Yadi for the 6,7,8th spots. I see no reason to hit Yadi in front of either of these guys at least to start off the season. Rasmus and Freese both have the potential to become good RBI guys and both have much better speed than Yadi. There's no need to put Yadi in front of them to slow them down. Let them get on base and have Yadi move them over which he is good at when not hitting into DP's. I vote Yadi batting eighth and pitcher 9th. Just my opin. [11 total replies]

Kyle McClellan In The Mix For A Spot In Rotation

A lot of this discussion is really just about who is #5 on opening day. Chances are one of the 5 starters will go in the DL and we will need a replacement so both will undoubtably get a few starts and their longevity in the rotation will be determined by that.

Personally, I would like to see opening day with at least one lefty in the rotation and that should be Hill if he can find control. Then Mac replaces the first starter who is injured. And if Garcia is showing no ill effects to his surgery he or Lynn are there next in line.

It's a long season. Unless Hill has lost the ability to throw strikes I'm betting both guys are on the roster at some point this year. [12 total replies]

2009 Rams Rumors and News

[quote:6f265c6ece="ABoyNamedSooie"]Ryan Mallet, for instance.[/quote:6f265c6ece]

Exactly, if Mallet puts up the same kind of numbers next year as he did in 09, he'll be a top 5 pick. He's got a simlar skill set to Bradford and presumably won't be coming off of a shoulder injury.

Suh, IMO, is about as much of a lock to be a stud as you can find in the draft. At worst, he's going to be a very solid DT, who will help anchor a position that is very weak for the Rams. You team him with Long, that frees them both up and dramatically improves the Rams pass rush. [36 total replies]

Good idea for a thread. Better than just what are you listening to now.
Last week I took my wife to Elton John/Billy Joel for her birthday at the Sprint Center. Excellent concert. Was more like 2 and 1/2 concerts. Well worth what I paid for the tickets even though it felt like we were sitting in Topeka.
We are 46 and we were on the young side of the crowd. There were people easily in their '70's
The new security sucked. We got there 45 minutes early and they started 15 minutes late and we still missed the first 15 minutes. They are going to use the same security for the Big 12 tournament? People will be po'ed. [11 total replies]

Pujols Gets Chance to Meet, Discuss Success With Kobe Bryant

One thing that I have always admired about Pujols is the fact that he honestly seems to never take any of his success foregranted. The way he talks about almost being star struck and his admiration for other great players makes him always come across just like a kid who is going through success for the first time. It could be just words, but I never feel like it is with him. In a day and age when star athletes should hardly ever be looked up to, he is true break in the mold. [1 total replies]

Your absolutely correct! I was skeptical of the Sampson hire from day one! I'm just glad that IU hired a man with high integrity like Crean so us fans are ensured that this will never happen again! However it's just hard because we're Hoosier bball fans and are used to success. [57 total replies]

[quote:98355f8a30]Left leg injury holds prospective utility candidate out

By Matthew Leach / MLB.com

03/04/10 2:35 PM EST

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Cardinals infielder/outfielder Allen Craig was scratched from the team's trip on Thursday due to soreness in his left quadriceps muscle. He is expected to be out through the weekend.

Craig, hoping to make the Cardinals' roster as a utility player and bat off the bench, was originally included on the travel roster that was posted in the team's clubhouse on Wednesday afternoon. However, his name was scratched off the list on Thursday morning, a result of the discomfort in his leg. Craig worked out at the Cardinals' complex in Jupiter. [/quote:98355f8a30]

Tough break for Craig, neither he, Mather or Greene can afford to miss AB's. [14 total replies]
