Larry Bigbie, Aaron Miles, Yadier Molina, Anthony Reyes and John Rodriguez among players to be on this year's caravans

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Cardinals today announced the schedule for the 2006 Cardinals Caravan. The Cardinals will embark on four separate caravans this year, scheduled during the week of January 12-17. The caravan offers fans a chance to meet and interact with current and former Cardinals players, team announcers, staff and Fredbird, the team's mascot.

Quote:
The second caravan is a two-day event Saturday, January 14, through Sunday, January 15. The group makes their first appearance in Marion, Ill., before stopping at Memphis, Tenn., on Saturday night. On Sunday they stop at Ripley, Tenn., and Cape Girardeau, Mo., Sunday night. Cardinals lefty Randy Flores and catcher Yadier Molina along with new infielder Aaron Miles will be joined by emcee Al Hrabosky on this trip.

I am not real excited with the springfield lineup....This is the first year that I will not be attending and I am very unhappy about it. Adam Wainwright as the headliner please.I had hoped either Jrod or Bigby would be coming to town. And what about the exhibition games none outside of Florida? What has happened to the cardinals? I am very disappointed to say the least Sad

Um, here they set it up in a large ballroom at a hotel and have the guys up on a stage like thing sitting at tables. They talk about the past season, the upcoming season and a few other things then it's opened up to questions. (We also have a ballpark dinner of hot dogs, chips and soda) After the questions we get in line and after waiting for a while to snake around the room, you walk past the table and have them sign things or talk to them. And I think if you ask, you can get up on the stage and take pictures with them. They're much more accessable here than at the Warm-Up. Smile

Me and my fiance are going to the one here in Normal, IL tomorrow (at the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University). This will be the third year out of the four I have been here that I have attended the caravan. It's kinda fun. We have J-Rod and Bigby coming through. Megan is excited after I told her Bigby was offered the bachelor job before Jesse Palmer was. I think I most enjoyed talking to Kerry Robinson a couple years ago (real nice guy), Al Hrabosky, and Chris Widger. They aren't the main guys, but it's a very personal setting. The only Sad of the whole thing is that this is the first year I have had to pay to get into it. Oh well...

Just a side note, the Cubs Caravan was here at ISU yesterday, and they brough Ryno. I'm not sure who else, but he was a huge draw. I wish the Cards would kick it up just a little in their lineup here, but oh well...I'm not complaining.

I went to the Hannibal caravan today, it was a good time. They gave away several nice prizes and all the guys there signed quite a few autographs. Even a complimentary hot dog/nacho/big pretzel lunch. They didn't have pics or anything there for you to get signed, you pretty much have to bring your own items. I got a nice Reyes sweetspot ball that will look nice with the others in my collection, and several cards from the others.
Reyes, Thompson, Gall, Costello and Cox. Fredbird even made an appearance. Great Caravan!!!

Okay, I'm sooo envious of you! I wish I coulda been there! The pictures are awesome. I love the one of the ring. But, of course, I love the ones of Brad. I still wish you'd tell me what you got me! Wink

I'm going to the Caravan tomorrow in Marion, Illinois. I live just a few miles down the road. I'm not quite sure what I am going to take and get signed. I'd like to get some official MLB balls, but they don't sell them anywhere around here. Yady, Miles, and Flores are all going to be there. Hungo is the Emcee.

I have a few questions about this for the people that have been before. Do they charge entrance fees? And do you have to pay for Autographs? The only one I really want is Yady. I allready have Hungo's. He signed an 8x10 last year for me at my local Wal Mart I was working for. He was there signing because we won some Frito Lay contest. My boss got to choose from him or Orlando Pace, and he was a Cards fan so he chose Hungo.
