Alright this has probably been post before but for those of you that have visited many stadiums, What do you think are the best Ballpark experiances? I dont mean just the ballpark but everything else with it, fans, bars, team, ambiance????
My number one would be Wrigley Field in Chicago which is slightly better than Fenway Park (There close) I love everything about Wrigley even though I dont care much about the Cubs, If I had to list in order of the Stadiums I have been to I would say
1. Wrigley Field ( Love the bars, crowd and neighboorhood)
2. Fenway Park - Park is awesome and the fans are most intelligent and intense than anywhere else
3. Busch Stadium - C'mon St. Louis is the best
4. Oriole Park at Camden Yards - Great park and when I was their the fans were into it.
5. Minuite Maid Park - Park was ok but It was cool how the fans screamed for everything I was suprised and liked this park alot. Not much in the way of post game watering holes
6. Kauffman Stadium - I only rate this one as high as it is because the Cardinals were there and it was cool to take over an opponets park. But would be better if it were downtown
7. PNC Park - Park is the best "new" park in the majors. The fans were lame but Pittsburgh is a pretty cool town
8. Ballpark in Arlington- Nice park and the Yankees were in town so the fans were into it, in the middle of nowhere
9. Great American Ballpark
10. Miller Park
11. Skydome |

I've been a too a couple of ballparks.
Jacobs Field (Cleveland)
Kaufman Stadium (Kansas City)
Wrigley Field (Chicago)
Busch Stadium I (St. Louis)
Busch Stadium II (St. Louis)
The Kingdome (Seattle)
Safeco Field (Seattle)
Obviously, my favorites are the St. Louis Ballparks. I really like both stadiums and since the Cardinals are always one of the teams playing there and they are located in STL they are easily my favorites. Second would have to be Jacobs Field. It's a nice stadium and Cleveland is a pretty good baseball town. I don't really like most of the Royals fans at a Cards Royals game in KC but Kaufman Stadium is very nice. Safeco Field is pretty cool but the Kingdome wasn't very good. And finally, Wrigley field is a horrible stadium and I hate the Cubs so that would be last on my list and I would imagine it will remain there even as I visit new parks. _________________ “I don’t mean to brag; I don’t mean to boast. Kaufman is nice. I liked Turner Field once I was inside--the neighborhood leaves something to be desired. Most of the other non-St. Louis parks that I have been to are either no longer standing or not in use--Astrodome, Tiger Stadium, Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium, and old Comiskey. By today's standards, none of those measure up. _________________ One year I hit .291 and had to take a salary cut. If you hit .291 today, you'd own the franchise.

I've been to:
Yankee Stadium
Fenway Park
Wrigley Field
Busch II and III
Kaufman Stadium
Outside of Busch.....I liked Fenway the best. It was an old school stadium, with great fans and just had an amazing feel to it.
Wrigley is always a great place to watch a day Cards/Cubs game. (My last one there was when Pujols hit 3....)
Yankee stadium was cool....it was really big.....
Kaufman was like a nice minor league park
And the Buschs....well, theres no place like home _________________ "It helps if the hitter thinks you're a little crazy." - Nolan Ryan |

Great American Ballpark, I believe.
Since none of you seem to have been there, let me lay down some knowledge for ya. Monster Park in San Francisco is the best park there is, hands down. (Although I haven't been to Pittsburgh or Detroit, and I hear those are nice, too) Petco and Camden Yards are also very nice. Dodger Stadium's an absolute dump.
I've been to 10 other parks. When I see the Cards at Minute Maid this August, I'll be halfway to be goal of seeing all 30 stadiums. |

Monster Park? you mean AT&T Park because I beleive Monster park is what used to be called Candelstick. Anyway I will be visiting At&t park in July and look forward to it. Later this year I hope to visit Jacobs Field.
I also want to see Dodger Stadium...It is a classic ballpark and next year I gotta see Yankee Stadium |

| You're right, it's now AT&T Park. Dang, I can never keep up with the way they're constantly changing the name of that dang thing. |

I agree with OCBird on this one... AT&T Park in San Francisco is the nicest of the 15 ballparks that I've been to. Fenway and Wrigley have the nostalgia factor going for them so they are always a treat.
Shea Stadium is the biggest dump of a field I've ever been to... and while I know the Nats weren't going to make any improvements on JFK (because they are building a new park) it was a completely "blah" experience there as well. |

As far as the whole experience, I have to go with Busch III. We were there for the 1st 2 games this season and had a great time. If I'm just rating the active ballparks I've been to:
1. Busch III- pretty park, classic feel, no ridiculous gimmicks (see my comments on Minute Maid). Even though it's a new park, they did a great job at giving the park a historic feel. Of course, it doesn't hurt when it houses a team with so much history.
2. Fenway- The park is kind of a dump, but for a fan of the history of the game it's the best of the old parks. Fans make it edge out Wrigley.
3. Wrigley- Also a park where you can feel what it was like to go to a game in 1920. Bars were great.
3. Ameriquest Field in Arlington- Awesome campus, beautiful detail. It's a bit too much of a hitter's park for my taste though.
4. Kauffman Stadium- Beautifully maintained and the people were great. Almost has the neighborhood feel of a minor league team. My only beef is the lack of outfield seats. The grounds crew is more likely to get a HR ball than a fan.
5. Coors Field- Pretty park in a pretty town. Plenty of microbrewed beer to choose from. Plus, I got to see McGwire taking batting practice there and that was quite the show.
6. Camden Yards- Just a beautiful park without a lot of gimmicks. I had a blast at the bars/grills around the park.
7. Miller Park- This is a nice park as far as comfort. The brats are great there. I'm just not at all a fan of the big mechanical parks.
8. Yankee Stadium- Believe me, as a baseball history fan I wanted to rank this higher. I was expecting to "sense" the ghosts of Yankees past (like in Wrigley and Fenway). However, renovations have made the place have the feel of a cheap 70s cookie-cutter stadium, imo. The fans were absolute jerks too.
9. Minute Maid- This is where I see most of my games. It's a comfortable park and on the hot humid days I do like the AC. However, I cannot stand the short LF fence, I don't like the silly train, the in-play flag pole makes no sense, and that friggin' hill is ridiculous. They pipe in music louder than any park I've been to and that stupid buzzing sound makes me want to do bad things. There's only a couple of bars/grills right around the park and neither of them are anything special. Top that off with the fact that it's in Houston and I just don't like it.
10. U.S. Cellular- It's just kinda there.
11. Skydome- Astroturf, blah _________________ For those interested, I started a blog:

| I've only been to Busch II, Busch III, and Angel Stadium. I was at Angel Stadium a few months ago, and it was a nice park and all, but it was just a different atmosphere than what I'm used to at Busch. The fans were more casual/laid back or something. I've been to more games than I can count here in St. Louis, so seeing 2 teams that I didn't really care about (Angels and A's) with different fans than what I'm used to was kind of a bizarre experience. I enjoyed it, though. |

I've been to Busch II & III and Coors....and 6 blocks from the Homer Dome in Minneapolis....
Obviously, I really like both Buschs...and Coors was pretty cool. We were there before I was really a baseball fan, but the view out past LF is amazing with the mountains and everything...I don't remember much about it other than the fact that it rained...and it was really pretty _________________ "When I put on my uniform, I am the proudest man on Earth"
