|
|
I was listening to KMOX just a few minutes ago, and they said that next Wednesday they will announce the dates of the Stadium Campout this year. (It will probably be in the last week of July.)
Did anyone go to this last year?? I was thinking about doing this, but is it worth it?? From what I remember, it was pretty expensive, wasn't it?? What activities were there to do?? Was there a stadium tour?? If so, what places of the stadium did you visit?? What kind of food was there?? Did anyone actually sleep?? (I have a lot of questions, don't I??)
Thanxx for any information you could provide!! |

I know wprsnpr99 went last year. I'm sure she'll get to this thread sometime
I would love to go sometime. It would be fun in the new stadium too _________________ "When I put on my uniform, I am the proudest man on Earth"

It does sound like a lot of fun. And I'm grossly sentimental about stuff like this, so with this being the final year for Busch Stadium, I would really like to do it.
I've always wanted to go into the dugout, the clubhouse and all that and I was just wondering if people got to do that during the campout. |

Now that the tix for the Cardinals campout are now officially on sale, I thought it would be a good time to bump this message up.
Has anyone been to one?? I'm thinking about it, but don't know if it's worth the money or not.
Please let me know ...
Thanxx!! |

oh yeah we did - I cried the whole time...especially when I turned around in the clubhouse and saw DK's locker still set up with his jersey and nameplate - 'bout dropped the camera.
I'm telling you people - it's worth EVERY penny you spend!! even more so with it being the last year for BuschII! _________________ Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon! |

no grillin allowed - no campfires either - no coolers allowed...beverages provided...beer at your own cost on a limited basis (even @ $250/ticket there were little kids there)
Food is provided - and what a spread we had last year!!
Smothered chicken - prime rib - grilled asparagus - chocolate covered strawberries - and of course traditional 'baseball' food...hot dogs, nachos, etc. And that was just dinner!!
They dished up more great baseball junk food for the 'mid-night' snack too!!
I was kinda disappointed (who wouldn't be after that spread!) with breakfast - just continental type stuff... BUT we did get to meet with Bob Forsch, Greg Matthews, and some other Cardinals family members. _________________ Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon! |

Last year's "Bedtime Story" was a ghost story read by Woody Williams (pre-recorded of course!) It was hysterical - we could barely hear one word of what he was saying because the accoustics on the field were that bad!! I guess when 50,000 fans aren't in the seats, it affects the sounds! _________________ Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon! |

What time do you advise getting there? They say check-in is 7:30 to 9:00 and I'm sure earlier is better but input from an experienced pro is greatly appreciated. What about parking? Did you take a tent?
I'm SO excited about getting to go. It's the time my hubby goes on his annual trek to Oshkosh for the Fly-in so I thought I probably wouldn't get to go since I wasn't sure about going alone but a friend said she'd join me so we're going! I think the hubby was shocked I was going and he wasn't but so it goes!! |

| Wow, I'm so jealous of all of you. As an Eagle Scout I love camping--and Cardinals are one of the few things I like even more then camping. But come on 250 bones...thats kinda pricy. I hope some charity is cashing in at that price. --holy smokes a squeeze play-- At any rate I hope everyone has a great time and takes some pictures for the rest of us. |
