I was in Normal and outta town but guess who happened to be in Lincoln, IL signin autographs at Wal-Mart yesterday? Cardinals Legend Lou Brock.. My dad got himself an autograph and got myself one because I wasnt able to make it yesterday.
My dad said that he was only signing in Lincoln because they entered some contest and won and Lou was in Lincoln for an autograph signing. Im like uh.. Why Lincoln of all places? Anyways.. Lou wouldnt sign baseballs or hats or anything like that my dad said but I got myself a signed photograph now of Lou even though I met him about 4-5 years ago when I got a signed baseball from him and Brooks Robinson on the same day at the same autograph signing.
The photo is him in his Cardinals Jersey under the title Cracker Jack Ballpark Legends (I'm guessing he was promoting for them but I dont know?).. Here's the little bio on the picture..
In Lou Brock's 18 seasons in the major leagues, he helped the Cardinals win three pennants and two World Series, made six All-Star game appearances and stole 938 bases, including more than 50 in 12 straight seasons. In his 1974 season, Brock stole a record-setting 118 bases and notched his 3000th career hit. He retired as the Cardinals all-time stolen base leader and was elected into the Hall of Fame in 1985. (Also has his height, weight, pos, etc on it with his major league career numbers).
The auto reads "To: Jeremy, Lou Brock."
Anyways, I thought it was pretty cool from my dad to do that |

He's my all time favorite. Growing up in the seventies he was a bright spot in a dark decade for Cards fans. Any lineup that had Heity Cruz or Ken Reitz hitting cleanup isn't, what is the word?, oh I got it, GOOD.
I do have some KC Royals things I can part with. _________________ "Those that don't read have no advantage over those who can't." Mark Twain
