A ball and bat autographed by 1982 World Series MVP Darrell Porter of the St. Louis Cardinals is seen Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, in Lee's Summit, Mo. The items will be on the auction block on Saturday night in Lee's Summit as part of a charity fund-raiser. Porter, who played for both the Kansas City Royals and the Cardinals, died in 2002.

Construction continues Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, at the southeast entrance to the St. Louis Cardinals' new baseball stadium in St. Louis, Mo. The site is next to the existing home of the Cardinals, Busch Stadium, and is expected to be completed for the opening of the 2006 baseball season.
